There are things that happen in life that I can't tell my friends and family about. However, a person can't keep everything inside!

Random Things I Can't Tell Regular People

If there were a happy pill...

I wonder, if there were a magic pill I could take to be happy all the time (with no side effects) would I take it? I am often sad, but I think I like it. I think I rationalize it by thinking it makes me feel conscious. I notice more things when I'm sad, feel more deeply. When I am happy (and I often am, don't worry) I just don't think as much.

I suspect a great deal of who I think I am hinges on my melancholy.

I'd take it.

I notice that I am sad a lot too. For me it's been this time in my life...late 20's, no money, super stressful job, not quite settled in what I want out of life and love. I swear I suffer from quarter-life crisis.

Depends if it's covered under benefits or not...

"I suspect a great deal of who I think I am hinges on my melancholy."

I guess I take a different view. Sure, everybody has their share of problems and hurt in life, but worrying about it never ever solved anything. I'm a firm believer in that you make your own breaks in life, no one else will do it for you. Just like you can't really depend on others to make you happy but only yourself in your views on life.

There's a popular book that I like to refer to for my personal motto on my outlook on life -
"Don't sweat the small stuff and in life, it's all - just small stuff!"

I'd take one too, if needed. Youre post rings so true with the depth of what sadness brings to one's self.

You have to have the sour in life...because the sweet isn't as sweet without the sour
